Research Interests:

I grew up in the small town Sendamangalam near the Namakkal district at Tamil Nadu (India). I received my bachelor degree in Biotechnology at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) in Coimbatore, India. During my Masters degree program at University of Helsinki in Finland, I was working with RNA viruses and several viral drug targets. In 2011, I joined Dr. Ari Helenius lab at ETH Zurich, where under the supervision of Dr. Jason Mercer, I had opportunity to work with vaccinia virus cell biology and a few other RNA viruses. During my work at Zurich I got my deep interest in studying virus and host cell interaction.

In 2014, I moved to Basel and started working with Dr. Adrian Egli at Department of Biomedicine, University Hospital Basel, where I had opportunity to increase my immunology knowledge in the contexts of host-pathogen interactions. Now I am doing my PhD to learn more about immune signaling in the prospect of developing better vaccine responses during the vaccination against viruses.
